Burgundy red velvet and flock taffeta medieval hooded dress
Made from soft, drapey, burgundy velvet which just hangs in elegant folds away from the body making it very flattering. This fabric is lightweight and has a stretchy element making it both very comfortable to wear and very easy to launder. The corset style lacing at the front and back make this dress suitable for a range of sizes as you can simply pull the cords to tighten or loosen the bodice. The main body of the dress is made from a soft, lightweight, burgundy velvet with the central panel. hood and sleeve inserts being made from an exquisite and dramatic flocked taffeta in a stunning fleur de lys design. This burgundy taffeta fabric is absolutely beautiful and adds a very decadent feel to this dramatic dress. The sleeves are fabulous , as you can see, the sleeves themselves are fitted ( but still have lots and lots of stretch to them so they are comfortable) up to wrist giving a slender silhouette but then have dramatic medieval styled cuffs. Cuffs are made from the same velvet with the lining being made from the taffeta fabric. Cuffs can be worn turned back or left to drape. A dramatic scottish widows style hood gives a very theatrical feel. Lined with the same beautiful taffeta. A small train of around 15 inches finishes the back beautifully.
